Bio.
Zach Santos

Zach Santos started his band during his freshman year at Berklee College of Music. While searching for a group that would bring his music to life, he connected with a group of musicians from across the country to create The Zach Santos Band.

Meet the members of the band:

Zach Santos:

Zach Santos is an amazingly talented songwriter, singer, guitarist, and bandleader. He is a student at Berklee College of Music, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Zach began his musical career when he was 12 years old. He wrote his first song when he was 13. At 19, he has authored more than 30 songs and produced his first album, Follow Me into the Dark, which includes eight of his favorite songs. He’s currently working on his second album, Late Night Thoughts, to be released in the summer of 2019.

Zach was born and raised in Seattle, Washington. He attended Bertschi Elementary, Billings Middle School, Bishop Blanchet High School, and graduated from the Seattle Academy of Arts and Sciences. While at SAAS, Zach was a member of the jazz band, jazz combo and was a part of the nationally acclaimed Seattle Academy jazz Choir.

His influences include John Mayer, Daniel Caesar, D’Angelo, Stevie Wonder, Stevie Ray Vaughan, and Marvin Gaye.

Those who have seen Zach play describe him as a dynamic performer onstage, bursting with energy and emotion. Audiences see him as a storyteller. He has organized and played live events since he was 14 years old. Audiences know Zach for playing blue-eyed soul, with elements of American rock and blues.

Kyle Gorall

Kyle Gorall is a guitarist and producer attending Berklee College of Music in Boston, Massachusetts.

Kyle was born and raised in Rochester, New York. He began his music career playing cello in middle school and high school orchestra while also doing theater in and out of school. Kyle played in a jazz band at an upstate New York community college and also obtained an Associates Degree in music performance. From 2016-2018, Kyle played guitar in The Jon Dretto Band which held performances throughout New York State.

In May of 2019, Kyle released his first album Noons of Future, an instrumental electronic record of which he produced and recorded while at Berklee.

Kyle has always been fluid in many genres but takes a special interest in R&B, Soul, and Hip-Hop. The 21 year-old takes inspiration from Jimi Hendrix, Jerry Garcia, Flying Lotus, and Mike Dean.

 

Daniel Souvigny

With his style deeply rooted in jazz and blues, while adding touches of R&B, Gospel, and Hip Hop, keyboardist and organist Daniel Souvigny brings an eclectic combination of genres to his work with the Zach Santos Band. From the age of 9, he has taken his unique style to venues and jazz festivals all over the country. Daniel attended Berklee College of Music from 2018 to 2019, and currently studies at Northern Illinois University.

 

Sage Strecker

Remington “Sage” Strecker is a freelance producer and bassist for the Zach Santos Band.

Sage started his professional career at age 17, operating out of his hometown of Granite Falls, Washington. He started out playing acoustic bass in a jazz quintet. In his junior year of high school, he began experimenting with electronic production and mixing. He is currently enrolled at Berklee College of Music, pursuing a degree in Music Production & Engineering. On top of this he is currently working on numerous side projects producing and mixing.

Sage was born and raised in the small town of Granite Falls, Washington, where he went to elementary, middle, and high school. During his time in school he participated in all the ensembles he could-Jazz bands, concert orchestras, symphonic wind ensembles, and even choir. In high school he also began operating live sound equipment for assemblies and concerts. After coming to Berklee his freshman year he met up with Zach (another Washington musician at Berklee) and was invited to join a group Zach was putting together.

His influences include Pino Palladino, James Jamerson, Sharay Reed, and Ron Carter.

Mike Ferrara

Mike Ferrara is a talented and versatile drummer with styles ranging from Jazz to Hip Hop/R&B to Metal. He is a student at Berklee College of Music, in Boston, Massachusetts.

Mike started playing at age 9. By the time he was 10, he was playing in Church in his Dad’s band. Throughout the years, Mike has developed into an established multi-instrumentalist, writing, recording, and playing shows on: Drums, Bass, Guitar, and Bari Sax. His most recent project is with the Zach Santos Band, who just finished recording their first album as a band, Late Night Thoughts, due to be released late Summer 2019.

Mike is from the heart of the Southeast, Atlanta, GA. He was an active member of the band programs during his Middle and High School days, participating in the All State and All State Jazz programs on both Bari Sax and Drums. Mike also marched on the Drumline at two High Schools and held leadership positions in both lines. Mike graduated from Our Lady of Mercy Catholic High School in 2018, holding both the Semper Fidelis Award for Musical Excellence and the John Philip Sousa Award

His influences include Travis Barker, Stanley Randolph, Donovan Melero, Benny Greb, Luke Holland, Nathan Camanera and Vinnie Colauita.

When Mike gets behind the kit, he comes alive. His passion and dedication for music has taken him across the States, playing everything from metal to R&B. Musicians that have worked with Mike describe him as being a creative and versatile player that can bring out the best of any musical situation.
